Who We’re Looking For

The Tikhe Lab is actively recruiting motivated students and researchers who are excited about
microbiology, entomology, and the intersection of insect–microbe interactions. We welcome
individuals who are curious, collaborative, and eager to contribute to both fundamental science
and applied solutions in vector control and public health.

Current Openings

M.S. Students (Fully Funded)

We are currently seeking Master’s students to join the lab for the Fall 2026 program. Projects will span topics such as mosquito microbiomes, bacteriophage applications, microbial biopesticides, pesticide resistance, and surveillance of medically important vectors and diseases. Students will gain experience in molecular biology, microbiology, field ecology, and translational research. Students will be supported in the form of either a research or a teaching assistantship. International students are encouraged to apply. Check the BSU graduate school website for more information.

Undergraduate Researchers

Undergraduate students interested in hands-on research are encouraged to get involved. Opportunities include independent study, research internships, and senior capstone projects.

Collaborators & Visiting Scholars

The lab values collaboration across disciplines. We welcome inquiries from researchers interested in joint projects, especially in areas of microbial control, vector biology, and global health

Ph.D. Students & Postdoctoral Researchers

At this time, there are no Ph.D. or postdoctoral openings. Stay tuned for future opportunities as the lab grows.
